Write for us
Advantage Training publishes original long-form guides for Australian workers, supervisors and trainers. If you can write like someone who has marked an assessment workbook or stood in a pre-start, we want to hear from you.
What we want
- 1,200 words or more of original Australian English. No spun, translated or AI-dumped copy.
- A fit with our hubs: WHS, leadership, training and assessment, RPL or vocational education.
- Practical steps, named Australian instruments where relevant, and examples that could happen on a Tuesday in Ballarat or Bunbury.
- Descriptive headings. No “everything you need to know” unless you then deliver everything.
What we will not run
- Course sales pages, coupon dumps or “best RTO” lists written by the RTO.
- Medical, legal or immigration advice dressed up as a listicle.
- Unlabelled paid links, sitewide footer trades or article bodies stuffed with exact-match anchors.
- Anything that tells a reader to ignore a regulator, skip consultation or fake RPL evidence.
Links and sponsored mentions
Editorial links to public resources (Safe Work Australia, training.gov.au, Fair Work) are normal. A commercial or guest-placed link is a different thing. If we agree to include one, it carries rel="sponsored" in the HTML. Readers can see the difference; so can Google. That is the point.
Example of how a sponsored mention is marked in copy: readers may compare providers listed in a sponsored My Skills directory mention — the relationship is disclosed in the link itself.
How to pitch
Use the contact form and choose “Write for us”. Include your name, a one-line workplace bio, the proposed title, the hub it belongs in, and why an Australian reader would finish the piece. We reply when a pitch is a fit; silence after three weeks is a no.
By submitting, you confirm the work is yours, has not been published elsewhere, and can be edited to our house style. We keep a right to add corrections after publication under our editorial standards.
Pitching questions
Do you accept paid guest posts?
We accept a small number of commissioned or sponsored pieces if they meet the same editorial bar as staff guides. Any paid link is marked rel="sponsored".
How long should a pitch be?
A title, a 150-word outline, your relevant workplace experience, and two published samples. Do not send a finished 2,000-word draft unannounced.
Can I include a link to my business?
One relevant resource link may be considered. If it is paid or placed as a condition of publication it will carry rel="sponsored". We do not sell unlabelled sitewide links.
